The press service of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced that the James Webb telescope has been launched into its final orbit, TASS reports.
It is reported that in On Monday, specialists performed the final maneuver to correct the telescope's trajectory to bring the apparatus to the second Lagrange point.
“At 14:00 US East Coast time, Webb turned on its accelerators for about five minutes (297 seconds) to final course correction, — noted in the message.
Earlier it became known about discovery of an asteroid with the maximum risk of collision with the Earth. According to the researchers, it can happen on July 4, 2023.
It was also reported that astronomers discovered a second giant exosatellite. Further observations with the Hubble and James Webb telescopes will help confirm its existence.
